Welcome to the Only-LineArt FAQ Page!

Well hello there my young minions and members of Only-LineArt! To those of you who don't know, we are a line art group on deviantART. We are different from other line art groups though, in that we acknowledge and include all forms of line art. We include not only basic line art (like that found in colouring books), but we also allow line art by way of hatching, line art that includes some shading, rough line art, and most notably, pointillism.

We are also different from other line art groups in that we do not exist solely to be an online colouring book. Art posted in this group, is not posted for others to colour it. It is posted for being a fantastic piece of art as is - whether it is a few plain lines, or whether it is a pointillism masterpiece, or whether it is a full graphic novel style page with shading, hatching, and the works.

We do however, acknowledge that you can do both! You can appreciate line art AND want to colour it (or have it coloured). For that reason, we have a brand new folder set up: the "Line Art - Please Colour" folder! Those artists who are willing to have their line art coloured, may post the line art in that folder. Any art posted there is available for other members to colour. We also have a brand new subfolder, "Please Colour - Coloured" set up within the "Line Art - Please Colour" folder. This is where we all get to see how you've coloured the piece! How awesome is that?!

You want to submit stuff, you say? Well, you're in the right place (well, sort of - just head back to the group after reading all the FAQ stuff - then submit away!)!

Unfortuately, to keep the trolls out, you have to be a member of the group to submit art. You can browse and look through all the great stuff in our galleries, but you do have to be a member to submit. But hey, no biggie! Just head on over to the group and hit the "Join This Group" button!

Once your membership request has been accepted, an administrative notice will be posted to your profile wishing you a warm welcome and giving you the link to this FAQ! Once you have read through the basics, please make sure to also read through the folder information!

When you know how the folders work, and are confident that you know where to submit stuff to, go nuts! We welcome your submissions, but please do try to submit to the right folders as it becomes a LOT of work to get them out of the wrong folders and into the right ones. Don't worry too much; we're not going to virtually castrate you if you send it to the wrong folder! We just want to know that you have taken the time to read through the information before submitting. And believe you me, it becomes obvious who has made mistakes and who has simply not read the information, really quickly. Even if you don't have time to read through all the information (trust me, I know about not having time for stuff!), make sure to at least read the information given on the folder to which you are trying to submit stuff!

If you really don't want to become a member though, and would like to submit art to this group, you can always submit it to us by suggesting it to a favourite. Our favourites are open to everyone on deviantART. But come on, if you have art that we would like and that works for the group, we'd love to have you as a member!

Please take some time to browse through this site. Even if you don't read all the information, please make sure that you know where the information you will need in the future is. And please DON'T submit art to a folder for which you have not read the FAQ. If you go to this page, some extra links appear on the left hand side navigation bar of the page. Each of those links takes you to all the information you will need about that folder. This should make it relatively simple to be familiar with the information for the folder to which you want to submit. So, no excuses :D
